A BEST - Ayumi Hamasaki

16-Track Best-of Collection.

Amazon Review

In addition to her remarkable success in producing hit after hit, Ayumi Hamasaki has drawn widespread media attention for her fashion, hairstyles, makeup, and every one of her public statements. Known as “ayu,” she has an influence—particularly among women in their late teens and early twenties—that extends far beyond that of an ordinary pop artist.
Listening to this best-of album, which focuses on singles released during the 20th century, makes it clear that she is not a manufactured idol but a gifted artist whose talent shines through. Her lyrics, especially those that look directly and honestly at her inner self, are striking. (Tomoyuki Mori)
